2024 Mazda 3 Trims

You don’t need deep pockets to have a premium experience in any of the 2024 Mazda 3 trims. The new Mazda has so many luxury features that it’s almost unfair to rate it as a mainstream vehicle. There are four models: three sedans and a hatchback, which is the top-tier. This lineup also has two powertrains, including a turbocharged option for the GT Turbo.

GX

Even though it’s the entry-level model, the GX trim has a host of high-level standard features, such as Mazda Connected Services, an 8.8-inch touchscreen display with Mazda Connect, a 7-inch LCD with a meter set, and an 8-speaker Mazda Harmonic Acoustic sound system. You can also wire your smartphone to it with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It also has heated front seats, manual air conditioning, and an 8-way manual driver’s seat.

The GX (starting price* of $24,200) is powered by a Skyactiv-G 2.5 L engine with Cylinder Deactivation. It provides 191 horsepower, a torque capacity of 186 lb-ft, and a fuel efficiency of 6.3 L/100km on highways. Standard safety features include rear cross-traffic alert, an advanced blind spot monitoring system, and G-Vectoring Control Emergency Brake Assist.

GS

The GS (starting price* of $26,700) brings a few improvements to its standard features. Here, you can enjoy a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a heated steering wheel, heated exterior mirrors, and additional Select i-Activesense safety features.

You can scale up the experience by opting for the Luxury Package, which includes leatherette-trimmed seats, a power glass moonroof, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The driver’s seat is upgraded with memory features, lumbar support, and 10 adjustments. There’s also a 10.25-inch display with Mazda Connect available in this package.

GT

If you’re buying the GT (starting price* of $33,000), you can opt between its standard and turbo engines. Some features offered in the Luxury Package are standard for this model, such as driver’s seat memory position and 10-way power driver’s seat.

The long list of tech features includes a wireless phone charger, a navigation system, HomeLink wireless control, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, SiriusXM Traffic Plus Travel Link, wireless compatibility with mobile devices, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium audio system.

GT Turbo

The GT Turbo (starting price* is not available) received even more styling and technology upgrades in 2024. It has gloss black wheels, dark trims on grilles and side mirrors, and a new exterior colour: Zircon Sand Metallic. The interior design is equally stylish, with black suede and terracotta leather.

The Skyactiv-G 2.5 T 4-cylinder engine puts the “turbo” in the GT Turbo, as it’s equipped with Dynamic Pressure Turbo technology. It delivers 250 horsepower and a torque capacity of 320 lb-ft, with fuel efficiency at about 7.3 L/100km on highways. Exhaust outlets have larger diameters, but you can also tell the GT Turbo from the rest with its Turbo badge on the trunk.
